Amy Appleton, M.D.

Amy Appleton, M.D., joined the Sutter Amador Pediatric Center in 2008. She received her M.D. degree from the George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington D.C. and completed her internship and residency at the University of New Mexico Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Appleton has more than 10 years of experience as a pediatrician. Most recently she practiced at Kaiser Permanente in Manteca for more than five years. Prior to Kaiser, Dr. Appleton’s experience included several years as a pediatrician in New York City.

Before becoming a pediatrician, Dr. Appleton majored in theater arts in the Los Angeles area and pursued an acting career for close to 10 years. Following her pursuit of acting, Dr. Appleton returned to school and began volunteering at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles where she worked with terminally ill children, which inspired her to consider a career in medicine.

In addition to her passion for taking care of children, she also loves animals, travel, theater and New York City.
