    Pediatric and Adolescent Services
    Sutter Pediatric Center

At Sutter Medical Group, we believe every child deserves to grow up healthy, and we do everything possible to make that come true. Our board certified pediatricians, nurses and clinical and office staff are dedicated to the health and well-being of our community’s children. From newborns to teenagers, we see that each child receives care that is cheerful and comforting, yet sophisticated enough to diagnose and treat the most serious illnesses.

Our family-centered care philosophy recognizes and respects the role the family plays in a child’s life. Family-centered care means that families and health care professionals share an equal partnership in developing a treatment plan for children.

    Appointments

    • Please call ahead to schedule an appointment for a specific time. Please be clear about the reason for the appointment so that we can schedule the correct amount of time. Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to allow for check-in time. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we will need to reschedule your appointment.
    • Please come prepared by prioritizing your concerns. Our providers want to address all of your medical concerns—bringing a prioritized list of questions will help us meet your needs. However, one fifteen-minute appointment may not be enough time to give you the quality attention you deserve for each problem. If this situation occurs we may ask you to book another appointment to ensure each problem can be dealt with thoroughly.
    • Appointment reminders are provided to you by our automated appointment reminder system. In order for us to better manage our provider schedules we ask that you please listen to the entire message and select the appropriate answer.
    • Appointment “no shows”: We understand that sometimes things come up that may necessitate canceling or rescheduling appointments. Should this occur please call our office at least 2 hours before your scheduled appointment time. Failure to appear for your appointment without cancelling will result in a “no show” letter from us. Two consecutive “no shows” or three within 12 months is grounds for being discharged from all Sutter Amador Health Center practices.

    Telephone Advice

The staff is available during office hours to address your concerns when you have a simple question that does not warrant an office visit, or if you are not sure whether you need an office visit for your child. Please allow up to 8 hours to receive a return call.

If you need to speak with someone when the office is closed, call the office at (209) 257-1722 to be transferred to the nurse advice line.

In the event of an emergency, call 911.

    Well-Child Exams and Immunizations

Pediatricians routinely perform well-child exams. At these visits, the pediatrician will give the child a complete physical exam, evaluate growth and development, administer immunizations*, and provide guidance and advice in the overall care of the child.

Immunizations are especially important during the first two years of life. Recommendations for immunizations are constantly being reviewed and updated.

View Sutter Amador Pediatrics Center's Well-Child Exam Schedule for specific recommendations for scheduling well-child exams and immunizations.

*Sutter Amador Pediatric Center uses only preservative-free vaccines.

Note: Bring your child's immunization record to every appointment.
