Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers
Course Description
Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers is offered at Sutter Amador Hospital (SAH) on a monthly basis. These courses are taught utilizing the American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines. Skills taught include CPR for victims of all ages, use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) and the recognition of life-threatening emergencies, such as sudden cardiac arrest and stroke, and how to respond to them.
Course Credit
After successful completion of this course, the participant will receive a certification card valid for two (2) years.
This course is taught according to the AHA. The AHA does not receive any money from this course. The AHA does not endorse any program or service other than those presented within the AHA materials.

SAH Employees interested in registering for these courses, can log onto HealthStream at www.healthstream.com/hlc/sutterhealth and select the Catalog tab; then type Classroom Courses and enter "CPR" in the search box.
