Cost

|
The new Sutter Amador Hospital cost $33 million. This works out to be about $250 per square foot. Twenty-five percent, or $8 million, of the cost will be paid from accumulated earnings of Sutter Amador, seventy-five percent, or $25 million, is financed through tax-exempt bonds issued through Sutter Health on behalf of Sutter Health affiliate group of which Sutter Amador Hospital is a member. Sutter Amador Hospital is responsible for interest payments on the bonds and depreciation costs of the new hospital of approximately $2.7 million per year. All Sutter Health hospitals are required to service their own debt.
In order to help offset the cost of the new hospital project, the Sutter Amador Board of Trustees launched a community-wide fund raising campaign to raise a minimum of $1 million. Due to the enormous success of the New Hospital Capital Campaign, they have raised $1.4 million to date. This money will be used for high-priority equipment for the ER, Critical Care Unit, Perinatal Services, and Surgery/Recovery suites.
